On average, 560 people per day and 700 during weekends. The exhibition of crown jewels in the Ostrava City Museum has been a huge success. From 9 December to 5 March, it was visited by whopping 24,368 visitors! This many visitors sometimes visit the museum during a whole year. And already on 23 March begins another highlight – a unique exhibition called Ostrava Unseen.
This exhibition was prepared by the museum in collaboration with the Archives of the City of Ostrava as another important part of the celebrations of the 750th anniversary of the first written mention of the city. Its aim is to show visitors things they usually cannot see or that have never been displayed yet. The exposition consists of six parts that present the history of this locality since the time of the mammoth hunters to the present day and try to depict the lives of people in different times.
The exhibition Ostrava Unseen with the subtitle ‘Its Way to Greatness’ will be displayed from 24 March to 30 June.
